WEA staff due to be paid in October 2016 will receive their monies as follows:

  • Staff paid by BACS:  monies will be in bank accounts on 14/10/2016 .
  • New sessional staff paid by cheque: cheque and payslip should be received by 14/10/2016 at latest

N.B.  Please note that the WEA payment method is by BACS.  The only time a cheque is issued is a first payment for new starters who we have not obtained bank details for at the time of making their first payment.

Payslips

  • All electronically issued payslips for October 2016 will be sent out by the end of Friday the 14th.

Email address and Sustainability

Please help the WEA look after the environment by providing us with your email address if you haven’t already so that we can email your payslip to you in future.  Electronically sent payslips are not only more sustainable but receiving your payslip this way will mean it reaches you more quickly and you can save it electronically for future reference.

If you are a WEA Sessional staff member who was expecting to be paid in October but you haven’t received a payslip by the dates indicated above, please check the information below as one or more of these may apply to you:

  • Did your course start right at the very end of September or during October?  WEA Sessional staff are paid a month in arrears and payments are apportioned across the length of the course so courses which start at the end of a month will often have that session paid with the following months sessions.
  • Is the work that you’ve done claim based (i.e. OTL visit, occasional support work)?  Claims have to be received at the relevant WEA regional office by the last working day of the previous month to be included in the following month’s payroll.  This also applies to sessional expenses.

A calculator to help sessional staff understand how their payments will be calculated is available on WEA’s Intranet which can be accessed here.  You will need to log into the Intranet to view the document.  Support for problems logging in, including forgotten passwords, is available from Nicky Booth 0117 916 6504 or email intranetsupport@wea.org.uk
